Height - 8-15m

Width - 4.5m

Description - A beautiful glossy dark green leafed tree. Named after it’s orange berries. Karaka is dense and flowers in spring with it’s berries presenting during the summer months.

Location - Karaka is normally found in North Island, Northern South Island and on the Chatham Islands.


Uses

It was used as the skids on the Tainui canoe. It is a favourite berry among birds.


Planting

This is a hardy tree and will grow well in many conditions.
